2: Quest for PearlsMissing a Heart Piece or Treasure Map? Fret no more! :D
Dragon Roost Island (Din's Pearl) Now that you have your sail, go back and talk to your boat and he will tell you about using the sail and about sailing on the sea and being mindful about the direction the wind is blowing. Get in the boat and arm your sail by an X or Y button. Direct the ship to the West. Please note your compass in the lower left hand corner to know which direction you’re heading. Jump the boat using the R Target to jump over barrels. You’ll arrive at Dragon Roost Island. When you land you’ll receive the Wind Waker from your boat. He’ll make you practice using the baton, which is a conductor’s wand. Look at the top of your screen and you’ll see a sliding yellow light. When it lands on the large middle button press your C stick (yellow) in the correct direction (signified by the song illustration on the bottom of the screen). To change the ‘Time’ your song is in, press your Control Stick (grey) right or left. You have 3/4 time, where you have 3 notes in a song, 4/4 time, where you have 4 notes in a song and 6/4 where you have 6 notes in a song. This will probably take practice because this takes a little getting used to. After you have correctly conducted for your boat he’ll let you go. First, I like to make a bee line to the back of the island, through the breezeway, to the monument just off shore. You’ll see 2 stone markers. One is broken and the other is intact. Play the song inscribed on the marker using your Wind Waker. Up, Left, Right. This is the Wind’s Requiem. A cut scene will ensue and you will meet Zephos who a frog diety and he will tell you about his brother, Cyclos, is angry that his marker was destroyed and is creating tornados over the ocean. We will meet him later. For now, leave the monument and go back to your landing area. Use the bomb flowers to blow up the boulders in your way and you’ll also have to Sidle to get to the entrance by the mailbox. Before you go up, pull the stone cube out at the bottom so you can create a short cut to the entrance. |

Prince Komali speak with the Rito at the entryway and he will tell you the Chieftan wants to meet you. Go inside and you’ll see they are meeting on the first floor. Go and join their conversation. You’ll find out that Valoo has become violent and fledgeling Rito, who need a dragon scale to fly, are not able to get close enough for this rite of passage. The chieftain's son, Prince Komali, being one of them, so they are hoping that you can help encourage him. They will give you your delivery bag that you can carry letters in. Go up the incline to meet with Medli for the first time and she will give you a letter to deliver to Prince Komali. Jump down to the first floor and go into the doorway that leads downstairs. Talk to the prince who is in bed holding a glowing pearl. Give him the letter and he’ll read it and than he’ll brush you off because he’s lost hope of getting his scale. Leave his room and this mini quest is finished. Our job is to help Valoo and give the Rito help. On the first floor there are there are 3 doorways, 1 leads to Prince Komali, 1 leads to the exit back to the landing and 1 exits to the spring. There used to be a bridge but it’s broken and there is a large boulder that is plugging the spring. Jump down to meet Medli by the boulder. Talk to her and she’ll ask for your help. Change the direction of the wind using the Wind Waker. Play the Wind’s Requiem and make the wind blow North. Pick up Medli and go to a raised formation. Give her a good toss so that she can land up at the entrance of the cavern. She’ll throw down an empty bottle as a gift for your help. Take the bottle back to the landing area and you’ll find a freshwater pool. Dip your bottle to get some water. Get back to the spring. Pour the water out onto one of the dried out bomb flowers. Pick up the rejuvenated bomb flower and throw the bomb onto the top of the boulder to blow it up. Then the water will refill the spring area. Swim across the water and climb up the broken ladder to get to the entrance of the dungeon.

Dragon Roost Cavern
Walk up to the top of the landing. You’ll find a lava pool and 2 statues holding stone vases. Pick up a bomb flower and throw it in the stone vase and it will cause the statue to fall face forward into the lava. Use it like a bridge, take another bomb flower and throw it in the 2nd statue and it will fall face forward too. Now you can jump all the way across to get into the dungeon. Pull the grey statue forward (the only grey statue that you can move). Once that’s in place, pull the other statue to the left to reveal and entryway. Dispatch the 2 Bokoblins and take a lit torch, one that a Bokoblin was carrying, and light the unlit torches. A chest will appear and inside will be a key. Go through the locked door and use your sword to break through the wood. Go around the rim of the room and you’ll come to a place where you can pull out a stone block from the wall. Pull it out and now you can make it across the divided rim. Turn right, watch out for exploding lava. Cross the suspended bridge. Pick up the nearest bomb flower. Take it across the next suspended bridge and blow up the boulder that is in your way. In the next room take a jar of water and throw it on the lava. It will create a temporary ground. Go to the left side of the room where there is a chest. Inside is a dungeon map. Pick up a jar of water to complete crossing the room. Beware that at the top of the ladder is a Red Chu. Climb the ladder and he will probably jump over you harmlessly. Go in to the next door and there is a darkened connector room/hallway. Take out the Bokoblin that crashes through the wooden boards. Pick up his weapon and break into the next area. You’ll see another boarded up room. Beware of falling Red Chus. Inside this little cove is a chest with a key. Exit out the door left from here. You’ll come back out to the inside of the volcano. Grab a rock and head over to the left where you’ll see a boulder in your way. Throw the rock at a bomb flower growing on the wall. This will trigger the bomb and blow up the boulder. |
Head straight and go through the locked door. Take out the 2 Red Chus, go forward and take out the next 2 Red Chus. Defeat the Bokoblin that jumps out of the side room. Collect any goodies they leave behind. Pick up to the stick that the Bokoblin dropped. Light it on fire with the torches and burn down the wood that blocks you from a side room. Inside will be a switch on the ground. Step on it to open the door. Go out the door and now you’re outside. Cross over the suspended bridge and defeat the waiting Bokoblin. Climb up the ladder carefully because a column of lava is erupting through the ladder. At the top fight the large blue bird with a gold tail. Sidle over a gap that crosses in front of another eruption area. On the next platform there is a boulder up against the mountain. Go around it and on the other side is a small wooden ledge. It’s too small, even for a Sidle, instead you’ll have to cross over by hanging from your hands. Approach the ledge as you would a stone cube and you will jump up and put your hands on it, hanging there. Move the control stick to the left to precariously cross over this gap. Once you can get up press up on the control stick. Pick up the waiting flower bomb and walk over the wooden platform to the waiting boulder. Throw the bomb onto the boulder to destroy it. Jump down and go into the room. You’ll find a wall of stone cubes. Pull all 3 bottom cubes out to create a staircase to get to the next room. The next room is crawling with rats. If you have bait you can make them your friend, otherwise they’ll steal your money. Not cool! Go left and pull the cube out of the wall so you can get up. To the right there is a chest on a wooden platform next to a torch. Open it to get your compass. Take a stick from one of the glass vase and light it on the torch. Stand in the center above the stone cube you pulled out of the wall and throw the lit stick at the room across which is boarded up. The lit stick will burn the boards up so you can get to the chest across the way. Jump down and take the ladder up and inside that chest is a key. Jump back down, cross the room again, climb up the stone cube and go through the locked door back out side. Go right and jump over the gaps in the stairs. At the top is another blue bird with a golden tail. If you can manage to kill it over the ledge he’ll drop his golden tail feather. Pick this new item up. You’ll want to collect these for later ;). Under where the bird was sitting, in it’s nest, is a key.
Go into the next locked door and you’ll enter into a dark room. Light all of the torches and burn the wooden bars barring your way. Then kill all of the bats. The shape of this area is like a V on it’s side. In the angle of the V is a chest, open it to get a Joy Pendant. Leave out the door between the torches and you’ll enter back into the center of the Volcano. Open the next warp vessel by throwing a bomb onto the top of the boulder blocking the lid of the vessel. The bomb can be picked from a close by bomb flower. Go into the next room and the door should lock behind you. Take out the Bokoblin and destroy all of the pots. For the pots that are on ledges which you can’t get to, just roll into the wall to knock the ledge loose. There are some bad guys in the pots. After you’re done, take a stick, either from a pot or one of the bad guys, and light it on fire and then light the other unlit torch to reveal a chest. Inside you’ll find a Treasure Map #39. Take the ladder up to the 2nd floor and leave out that door. In the next room there will be an island with a Magtail. To kill this with one shot, strike the enemy with your drawn sword and have it selected with your L target. The Green A Button will light at the right time. Once it is gone jump back to the ledge where there are jugs of water. Grab a jug of water and jump back to the island in the lava and wait for the lava elevator to begin to appear. Throw the water on the lava to create temporary land and take the elevator up one more level. Jump off and go into the door there. Inside this room you’ll see a mote of lava and a Magtail on the steps. This is the entrance to the boss. You can tell by the giant gold lock on the door. :) Open the next warp tunnel with a bomb flower and reveal the next door by blowing up a second boulder that is covering it. Go through the door and you’ll be outside again. Turn right and go up the stairs, which give way, and continue up to the top. You’ll find Medli behind bars. Enter the ring and fight the two Bokoblins then a bird will drop a Moblin (big pig guy) down and defeat him with Pery’s and once he is gone he will leave you a glowing orb. In it you will find a knights crest, which you’ll want to collect for later. After the enemies are gone the door will open so Medli can escape. Go talk to her and she’ll tell you that some terrible creature is in the volcano torturing Valoo. She will give you a grappling hook so you can get back down. *Note* This is a most useful item and I’ll go over those uses as I come to them. Just know that this is an awesome item. Thanks Medli!
Once you’re finished grapple onto the hook and follow this around to a door. Go inside and this is where you will get your boss key. There is a Magtail crawling around in here. Don’t kill it, you’re going to need it as a weight. Strike it several times with your sword until it rolls up into a ball and then pick it up and put it on the floor button. The flames around the master chest will stop and inside you’ll find the boss key. For simplicity sake, I save the game and then hit the reset button on the system. Easily taking us back to the beginning where you can get to a chest that you couldn’t get to before without the grappling hook. Head back into the level and once you’re inside the center where the lava is erupting, turn left and go into the nearest door and turn to the right and you’ll see a hook to grapple to hanging from the ceiling. Swing across to the room that is blocked by board and break through then using your sword. There is a treasure chest inside that contains a Treasure Map #11. Now work your way to the first warp tunnel in the very beginning and warp through the 2nd warp tunnel and then warp to the boss lair. Swing over the mote using your grappling hook. Kill the Magtail and open all the chests (one is a knights crest) and the two top vases have fairies. Take out your bottle to catch one. Be careful as you approach the fairies as the may heal you when you don’t want them too. Arm your bottle and try to catch a fairy. Put your bottle away and prepare for the boss. All you need is your sword and your grappling hook.
Boss: GHOMA
As soon as you can, arm your grappling hook and aim at Valoo’s tail which you can hook onto. You’ll swing across the room, let go and the ceiling will fall down onto the boss. Do this several times until the exoskeleton comes off at which point jump down and L target his big green eye. You’ll pull his head down. Stab him in the eye repeatedly. Do this a couple of times to defeat him. A trick to this boss is, if you stay moving it’s hard for him to injure you. Once he’s dead, his eye will turn into a heart container which will give you another heart. Yay! After collecting your heart container head out to the center of the room to exit the level. All is well now. Congratulations on defeating your first real boss in the game! Valoo is really happy, too. There is a cut scene and you teleport back to the landing area. Prince Komali gives you his treasured Pearl. Now, before leaving there is a mini game to play. |
Letter sorting table** Go up to the second floor of the Rito village and talk with the Rito behind the counter. He will give you a challenge. First to sort more than 20 letters in a given time and then after getting that, then it’s sorting more than 25. Sorting 25 in a limited amount of time can be difficult, but the trick is to stay relaxed. :) You can do it! After your first 25 letter sort win, leave the village and come back again. You’ll find a new face behind the counter. It’s Baito, and he’s your biggest admirer and he wants to see you sort 25 letters. So entertain him and sort another 25 letters. Don’t be discouraged, it’s hard, stay relaxed and calm and you can do it. Afterwards he’ll give you a letter to put in the mail to his mom (even though he’s sorting mail, right? 0.o). So take the letter outside to the landing area where there is a mailbox. Pay the postage to send it off. His mom will send you a surprise in the mail later. When you see the mailbox bouncing around that’s cause there is mail in there for you. So keep your eyes peeled in the future about bouncing mail boxes.
Now you’re ready to leave for your next adventure. |
Forest Haven (Farore's Pearl)
Getting to Forest Haven** Start out from Dragon Roost Island and play the Requiem of the Wind song and then make the wind blow south. Then, I recommend you visit Beedle and purchase a Bait Bag, Bait and Hyoi Pears. I recommend 3 Hyoi Pears and the rest available space for Bait. Then get into your boat and head south. You’ll be stopped by a fish who is going to give you a clue about Dragon Roost Island and draw you a map of the island. Than, keep going south 4 squares until you get to Forest Haven. You’ll know you’re at the right place when you see 2 similarly shaped island sticking up out of the water. Head to the island on the left. If it’s been a day since the Baito Letter Sorting quest the mail box will be bouncing around. Inside is a letter from Baito’s mom who is giving you a HEART PIECE#17. Getting into Forest Haven** Afterward, head up the incline to waiting Boko Baba. You can cut them down with your sword as It’s hard to get around them without getting hurt. This may take some practice. So, go up the incline, it’ll turn to the right and then back left. At the platform above there is another Boko Baba. After this, now that you have a moment. Look at the waterfall in front of you and now look up, there is a hook that you can grapple onto. Swing over the gap and onto the waiting platform. There is an Octorock waiting to pelt you. Pull out your shield quickly and be facing him. You don’t have to target onto him, just face his general direction and you will reflect his attack and destroy him. Than turn around until you see another platform covered with grass. There is another Boko Baba waiting for you there. You can probably get by him, but be quick. Jump to the platform in the water closest to where the Octorock was. Once there jump up onto the connected ledge. Pull out your shield again to reflect the attack of a second Octorock. Then look up to see another hook ready for grappling. You’ll land in the pool of the 2nd Octorock than head right into the cave to enter Forest Haven. Note* Every time you go into Forest Haven you’re going to have to go through that all over again. |
Delux Pictobox** Before I do anything I look for a fabled Forest Firefly. Take your bottle and empty it if you have anything in there. The Forest Firefly is an especially bright orb floating around. Don’t just try to catch any old floating light. This one is noticibly brighter and whiter than the others. Catch that on in your bottle and head back to your boat. Change wind direction to north and head back up to Dragon Roost and then west to Windfall Island. If you get out of squares on the sea chart that you haven’t been to yet than your boat will redirect you. Song of Passing Once at Windfall (it’s probably night) go to the back at the grave on the cliff. Tott (strange Elvis) is there dancing, talk to him and pull out your Wind Waker. He will teach you the Song of Passing. Leave him and then play the Song of Passing and it will be day, if it is day than it will be night. Make sure that it is day before going to Lenzo’s. Once at Lenzos, talk to him first than pull out the bottle with the Forest Firefly in it. He will take your Pictobox and make it a Deluxe Pictobox. Now you can take colored photographs which you’ll need for the Nintendo Gallery. Now head back south to Forest Haven.
Helping the Deku Tree** Once inside Forest Haven, trigger the cutscene with the Great Deku Tree by stepping on the huge lily pad in front of him. He will be covered by ChuChus. Roll into him to knock them off. Kill them with your sword, they take 2 hits, and then a cut scene will ensue. The Great Deku tree will give you the pearl but he needs you to save Makar, who is lost in the Forbidden Woods. After the cut scene you will have access to all of the Koroks, except Makar; of course ;). |
Nintendo Gallery** Change the wind to the corresponding direction of the island. Jump using your leaf and land on the island. Note* you have magic now, so make sure that you have enough before you jump because you can be dropped over unsavory places ;). Once on the island pull out a Hyoi Pear and a seagul will come by and pick it up off your head. Direct the seagul around until you see a switch in the wall of Forest Haven. Fly the seagul into the switch to activate it. The door will open and the ladder will fall on the gallery. Now you can start taking pictures and getting statues. Note* I take all of my Koroks pictures now before they disperse over the world after this level.
Treasure Map #3 Go back to the ledge that you took to get to the Nintendo Gallery, inside Forest Haven. There is a Boko Baba flower just waiting to be use. Take it to an even higher branch. Land on that branch, then run and jump and glide with the Deku Leaf to the absolute highest ledge you can get to. Walk out side here and below is another round island. Change the wind to the corresponding direction of the island. Float down to the island and on it is a chest and inside is the Treasure Map. :D |
Forbidden Woods
Take the Boko Baba flower sprouts, which encircle the Great Deku Tree, back up to the top where you got your Deku Leaf. You’ll see a ledge with a large arrow made from well manicured grass pointing up. That is where you want to land. Guide yourself there using the Deku Leaf. Outside there is a ledge. Look to your left and there is an island with a circling whirlwind between you and the Forbidden Woods. Change the wind to go in that direction. Fly there using the Deku Leaf. Once there cut the grass down for more magic. Change the wind accordingly so you can get to the Forbidden Woods and before you jump, wait for the circling whirlwind to come around because it will lift you up high enough in the air to get you to the ledge of the Forbidden Forest. Avoid enemies, you don’t want to fall in the water here... The first room you come to, go to the back of the room to the left and pick up a large walnut (thingy) and walk to the front of the door with the flower lock. Throw the walnut at it from a distance to destroy the lock. Then go to the right side of the room on an incline that leads to a chest with your dungeon map. You will be surrounded by ChuChus, fyi. In the next room you’ll be traveling by Boko Baba flower sprouts. First head right to the ledge you can reach (it will have a Boko Baba flower sprout on top) and then while in the flower turn a soft left to head to the next Boko Baba flower sprout. While inside of the flower turn right and you’ll see the next door. Glide to this ledge. There is a bomb to the right of the door. Beware of the ChuChus. If you slice at them by the bomb you’ll blow yourself up. Pick up the bomb and throw it so that it lands at the entrance of the door. On to the next room. :) Note, we’ll come back to this room once we have the dungeon item. In this room to the left there is a leaf turbine. Use your leaf to fan the turbine and turn the gears. A platform will slide down to you. Once on the platform face the direction you came in and fan the door. This will propel your platform forward. In the next room you will have Peahats to deal with. Just fan them with your flower and their propellers will collapse. They take two sword strikes at this point to kill them. Go up the incline in the middle of the room (there is a path) to the waiting Boko Baba. Take out the Boko Baba and on the right side of the trunk in the back is a flower that will spit you up to the next ledge where there is another waiting flower. At this time you can open the chest in the middle of the trunk (you’ll have to float to it), there is a red rupee in there. Use the Boko Baba flower sprouts to get to the top ledge at the locked door. Use the sliding platform to get to the other side of the room (like in the previous room) where there is a cove that is boarded up. You can cut through this with your sword. Get the waiting walnut and carry it to the platform. Drop (not throw) the walnut and then use your leaf as a fan to propel you back to the locked door. Use the walnut to bust the flower lock. |
In the next room, use your leaf to knock the walnut to the door, and go around the edges of the room because writhing spiked vines come out of the floor to knock you over. Use the walnut to break the flower lock. In the next room go to the right and use your grapple to use on the wall hook to swing to the next ledge. Jump onto the moving platforms, wait for them to come together and then a part to be able to reach the next ledge. There is a waiting walnut there. Pick it up and use the large wooden hanging hut as a means to get to the next ledge with a door with a flower lock. Use the walnut on the lock. You can continue around the room at this time, via moving platforms to a high ledge. There is a pile of leaves that cover a warp. Use your leaf to fan them away. Now use your leaf to get back to the lower ledge where the door is you just unlocked. Inside there is a gap in the floor with a chest. You will be mauled by Morth just do a spin attack to get rid of them. Inside the chest is a yellow rupee. You can skip this by jumping over the gap all together. In the next room is a maze with writhing spiked vines that come out of the floor when you get near. Walk slowly here... Please see the map of the Spiked Vine Maze Room to the right I created here. You'll need the bomb flower to blow up the boarded up entrances to the coves. In one chest there is a compass and in the other there is a key. There is a Boko Baba flower sprout that you can take as a short cut to the door. There are goodies on top of the other trunks in vases etc... if you want to take the time to get all of it. Leave the room when you’re done, kill the Morth with your spin attack and run past the new ChuChus in the room. Outside in the room with the large hanging wooden hut, get back to the locked door on the platform to your left. Now you have a key to use here. Inside, use your leaf to fan the propellers to your right to bring the sliding platform to you. Then use your leaf to propell you forward. In the next room kill the Morthula. It’s hard to get around with that in the room. Kill a Boko Baba for a nifty purple flower to spit you upwards to the next level. You will be chased by Peahats, be warned! In the upper lefter there is a door you can go in. Miniboss: Mothula Use the leaf to fan this boss and send it falling to the floor. Once it’s close enough to the floor strike at it with your sword. Once it’s gone a chest will appear with your boomerang. Awesome! To get out of the room use your boomerang (set it to X or Y) to open the door by aiming the crystals above the door. You can select more than one object to hit on the same throw. So aim once, hit both targets and the door will open again.
Joy Pendant Turn right immeditely, after you leave the miniboss room, and use your grappling hook to hang from a wall hook. Climb up the rope after stopping your swing. Once you’re standing on the wall hook than use your grappling hook again to swing from yet another wall hook above you to the platform in front of you. Once on the platform turn left and jump onto the moving platforms until you get to the top. There is a ledge with a chest with a Joy Pendant in it. Use your leaf to float back to the miniboss door. Now that you have this item you can open the door with 2 flower locks directly across the room. Target both of them with your boomerang just like you did on the crystals to get outside of the miniboss room. Joy Pendant Inside the next room cut down all of the hanging obstacles by selecting their vines with your boomerang and releasing the boomerang. This will will be great practice for you. Once you have cleared a path run and jump. *In the apex of your jump pull out your leaf and float to the next ledge, if you don’t pull out your leaf at the right time you won’t be high enough to land on the next ledge.* Once there, there is another chest with another Joy Pendant. When you leave out of that room you will see below that on top of the large hanging wooden hut is a big flower. Use your leaf to glide to the top of the flower. Use the boomerang to cut the vines that are suspending it. That will send the flower crashing through the floor below. Down here you will find an unlocked door. Inside there is a Peahat waiting and ledges with Morth. Use your boomerang to take them out before trying to jump from island to island because they will weigh you down. go to the right and avoid the arms that come out of the grass to steal your magic. Go through the next door and you’ll see another hanging (smaller) flower. Jump on to the flower and continue across to a ledge where there is a chest. Inside there is a yellow rupee. Then jump back onto the flower and cut it down from the ceiling like you did the last hanging flower. Have your shield out as an Octo is waiting to pelt you. Once you have taken him out, go and get a bomb flower from one ledge and run across the flower (as a bridge) to throw the bomb and the boarded up entrance to your right. Inside is a door. This room has Peahats, Boko Baba, Morth and a sliding platform. Jump from the entrance to an island (with leaves) to the next, after taking out the Boko Baba. Now turn left and jump onto the center island with the big hut. Go around the side and take out the Morth with your boomerang and the Boko Baba on the next little island. He will leave you a sprout to spit you up on a high ledge to your left. Up there you’ll see a propeller to trigger by fanning your leaf. Jump onto the moving ledge and use your leaf to propell you across the top of the hut to another ledge across the room. There is a ledge with a bomb flower. Pick the bomb flower and thrown the bomb into the center of the hut, where there is an opening, and the bomb will destroy a flower lock that is covering a chest. Once you’ve destroyed the lock you can float down to the opening with your leaf from the platform. In the chest is a Treasure Map #15. Now crawl out of the hut by way of an opening close to the ground.
Tingle Tuner: Forbidden Tingle Statue (Statue #2) Go back to the entrance to the room and to the left of the door is a small island with 3 trees. Call Tingle and he will show you there is something there. Use a Tingle Bobm to blow the spot and a chest will appear. Inside is a Tingle Statue. Now you can leave this room. :) |
You’ll have to recut down the flower and kill the Octo. Once that is done, stand on the middle of the flower as it’s like a raft on the water and use your leaf to propel you backward, to the back. When you get there 2 Octo are waiting to pelt you. Use your shield to reflect their blows back to them. Afterward propel the flower to the ledge and now you can go into the door there. Inside there will be a grass covered tree stub with the chest carrying the Boss Key inside. Winding up the side of the tree stub is a path. Use that to get to the top of the tree stub. Once you’re there look around the room and you’ll see 5 crystals on poles that you have to trigger on one throw of your boomerang. Stand in the middle of the tree stub and, this may take several times, select each crystal with the boomerang and once they are struck in a consecutive order the door in the tree stub will raise so you can get the Boss Key out of the chest. After you get the key 2 Moblins will be dropped on you. Dispatch both of them to get out. *Note, your boomerang will knock them silly for a moment if you need a moment. Go back up the path to the top of the tree stub and use your grapple to hook onto a hook/branch and swing to a ledge with a door. Once out side you’ll recognize the room. Use your leaf to float back down to exit. You’re done here. Once outside you’ll see the large flower that you cut down causing it to crash through the floor. Use your leaf to fan the propellers to your left and then jump into the Boko Baba sprout and it will spit you in the air. Use your leaf to float over the large flower which is like a large fan with air rushing upwards. This will take you back up. Once there you will see a room with 2 flower locks. Use your boomerang to take out the locks. Joy Pendant Inside the hallway are 2 Morthula. After defeating them a chest appears with a Joy Pendant. Go to the room at the end of the hall you’ll come into the room with the Boss Door. You can break open the brown pods laying around the room for goodies. But beware, there are bad guys lurking in the pods too. Just to the left of the door there is a warp. You can unlock it by taking a stick from the vase to the right of the door and lighting it on fire by the torch and then lighting the wooden lid on the warp on fire. Now you can use the warp. Go back to the first room at the entrance of the level. Go into the door there (not door leading outside) and in that room (with all of the spiked vines coming out of the walls) jump down to the bottom floor. Knight’s Crest There is a hollow tree trunk with a chest and a flower lock. Use your boomerang to destroy the lock and inside is a Knight’s Crest. Now make your way to the very top of the room via Boko Baba flower sprouts. You’ll get to a ledge with a Boko Baba and ChuChus. After killing the Boko Baba, you can use the sprout left behind to get to the cove across the room. Treasure Map #1 There is a chest with a flower lock, use your boomerang to destroy the lock and inside is a Treasure Map. Now use your leaf to float back to the door that you came in to get back to the warp. Warp your way back to the Boss Door (3rd Warp).

Boss: KALLE DEMOS
This Boss eats Makar and you’ve got to help him! What a jerk! Take out your boomerang and use it to target the vines descending from the ceiling holding the boss up. After cutting all of the hanging vines he will fall down and the inside flower face will be exposed. Use your sword to strike it. Be carful to keep moving otherwise the tentacles will hit you. After cutting it down again you can get to the inside of the flower again and strike at the face thingy repeatedly. This should do it, if you can get enough hits in. Afterward collect your heart container and talk to Makar who is safe and ready to get back home. Walk into the whirlwind and you’ll be transported back to the Great Deku Tree. There is a cut scene where the Koroks collect tree seeds to spread throughout the world. Makar plays his (?) cello and the others sing. Than you are ready to move onto to your next challenge. :) |

Jabun Quest (Nayru's Pearl)
Check the mailbox before leaving Forest Haven, there will be a letter from Komali’s dad who thanks you for your help with his son, and he gives you a HEART PIECE#34. Now change the wind direction to North West and head to Greatfish Isle. Right now the island placement is just highlighted. Once you get close to the island a storm cloud will appear and you’ll learn form the Rito that the island was destroyed by Ganon. Luckily Jabun escaped before the destruction hit and fled to Outset Island. Before you go back you’re going to need bombs because he’s protected by a large stone slab on the back of the island. Where do you get bombs, you ask? From the pirates, of course! Change the wind to North East and head to Windfall Island because that’s where they’re moored. Don’t worry about running out of time, because it will be raining and dark for the duration of this quest. |
There will be a cutscene when you get close to the island then you’ll be free to roam around. If you try to get into the Pirate Ship first, you’re going to hit a snag. You can’t get below deck without a password. So first, head over to the bomb shop (the lonely building on the western portion of the island). Head around the back, you’ll have to sidle to get there, and climb up the vines to the roof. You’ll see a hole you can crawl into, there is another cutscene. Pay attention though, because they will give you the password for the ship. Note* The password changes every game. Once you have it head over to Niko one more time and give him the password at the door. Also, this is the only time you’ll get to see Tetra’s room if you wanted to look around. Head down to Niko and he’s set up the room differently now, no more platforms. The trick here is being able to adjust yourself in the air, stopping your swing, turning, lining up with other lanterns and swinging big than letting go to reach the next lantern. Good luck! Afterwards he will give you the bomb bag treasure as a prize for completing the challenge. Now you can leave and head back to Outset Island.

Set your wind direction South and head for Outset Island, again, no rush, the night isn’t going to end until you complete this quest. Check the mailbox before you leave for 2 letters. One from Orca and one from Beedle. Now Beedle sells bombs and Orca wants you to bring him Knight’s Crests. Once you get to Outset take a fairy in a bottle to your grandmother. If you don’t have a fairy head up to the forest where you rescued Tetra in the beginning of the game. Be prepared for all of the new baddies! In the back of the forest there is a large rock sticking way out of the ground. Take a bomb and lay it at the base. Once it’s blown up a hole appears, jump down to get to the Fairy Fountain. The Fairy will give you larger wallet (now you can carry 1000 rupees), and fairies will appear in the fountain. Catch one for your grandmother. Take it to her and release the fairy near her and it will heal her as she is very sick. Once she recovers she’ll give you her special soup in your empty bottle. It’s filled really full so there’s 2 helpings. This will heal you and refill your magic. Awesome! Thanks grandma! Now you’re ready to blow up the slab in the back. Note* She will refill your bottle nice and full any old time you come back.
Jump in the boat and make your way around the back. You’ll notice a whirlpool, sail into it. Now your stuck in it going in a counter-clockwise direction. Aim for the slab (they almost have 3 bulls eyes for you). After some blasting the door will break down, the whirlpool will cease and you can sail in. Jabun comes up from under the water and talks to your boat. If this were the master quest you could understand what he is saying, fyi :). He gives you Nayru’s pear. Now you’re ready to take these pearls to their pedestals which are out in the ocean! |
Din, Farore & Nayru Pearls
& Their Pedestals Check your sea chart and it will show you, by lighting up the squares, where you want to go. Change the direction of the wind North and head to the nearest Triangle Island. You’ll have to fight the Sea Hats to get to it, once you’re there walk up the pedestal and a cutscene will play. When you’re finished head to the eastern Triangle Island, rinse and repeat. Same goes for the northern Triangle Island. A cutscene will appear, it’s pretty cool too. The pedestals blow up and a ray of light shines from one to the next and the Triforce is illuminated under the water. Then a large tower raises out of the ocean and you are thrown by the explosion over the ocean and smashed on the side of the tower. Your boat comes and gets you and now you’re ready for the next phase in the game... The Tower of the gods! And, subsequently, the Great Sea Quests. —————————————————————————————————-- What's Next: 3. The Great Sea Quests What I call, the Great Sea Quests. Which consists of The Temple of the gods, your first trip to Hyrule, the second Forsaken Fortress quest and your second trip to Hyrule. |
